Privacy at TaleWeaver Ink

What this page covers

This policy explains how TaleWeaver Ink handles information shared through this publisher website, its author pages, inquiry forms, and linked newsletter signups. Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@taleweaver.ink.

Inquiries and project conversations

When you contact us, we receive the name, email address, inquiry category, and message you provide. We use that information to answer your question, discuss your project, and manage any work we agree to undertake. A short project description is enough to begin; please wait until we request a full manuscript.

Our forms are provided through WordPress.com and Jetpack, and business email is handled through Google Workspace. Inquiry records may be stored in the website’s form-response system and our email. Access is limited to the people and service providers who need it to handle the inquiry or support our operations. Sending an inquiry does not add you to an author’s mailing list.

Newsletters and free reader gifts

Newsletter signup is a separate choice. A signup for Avery Shea’s mailing list is for Avery’s updates; Shawn Connelly’s reader gifts identify the signup for Shawn’s newsletter. We use MailerLite to manage subscriptions and send email. Subscription records can include your email address, any name you provide, signup and confirmation details, and email engagement information such as opens and link clicks.

BookFunnel provides signup and delivery for the free story and audio gifts linked from this site. The offer page explains when a newsletter signup is required. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter, or contact us for help. Submitting a publishing or service inquiry does not enroll you in these newsletters.

Website technology and cookies

WordPress.com and its associated services process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, pages visited, and the time of a visit to operate the website, provide site statistics, and help prevent spam and misuse. Cookies and similar technologies may be used for these purposes. Browser settings can limit cookies, although some functions may be affected. Automattic’s notice for visitors explains its processing in more detail.

Shopping and other websites

Merchandise purchases take place in our Shopify store. Book and audiobook buying links may take you to an author website or an external retailer. Direct paid book delivery is not offered on this publisher website at launch. Checkout, payment, delivery, and account information are handled by the service used for the purchase and its applicable privacy and store policies.

How information is used and kept

We use contact information to respond to requests, deliver the updates a person signs up for, and administer publishing or service relationships. We do not sell inquiry or newsletter contact lists. Service providers may process information on our behalf to provide hosting, email, forms, newsletter delivery, and digital gifts. Their systems may process information in countries other than the visitor’s own.

We keep inquiry records for as long as needed to respond, manage an ongoing relationship, or meet applicable recordkeeping requirements. Newsletter records are managed according to subscription choices and service-provider requirements. Some records may need to be retained to document an unsubscribe request, an agreement, or a transaction.

Your choices

You can ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you have shared with us by writing to hello@taleweaver.ink. We may need to verify a request before acting on it, and some records may need to be retained for recordkeeping. For newsletter preferences, the unsubscribe link in the email is the quickest option.

Some of our books are for younger readers. Children should ask a parent or guardian to handle inquiries, newsletter signups, and purchases. A parent or guardian can contact us with a question about information a child may have provided.
